Bord na Mona shortlisted for Green Supply Chain Awards

Bord an Mona, a sustainability thought leader and respondent to the Carbon Disclosure Project have been using the Nootrol service for the last 6 months to implement their Green Procurement and Sustainable Supply Chain Program.

Their results have been impressive ! They have engaged over 70% of their direct suppliers and in turn have gained a detailed understanding of the level and maturity of sustainability policies across multiple tiers of their supply chain.

As further acknowledgement of their achievement, they have now been shortlisted for the Green Supply Chain category alongside Dell, IBM and Symantic.

Their program included the measurement of suppliers Carbon, Water, Waste, Hazardous Materials, Recycling and Packaging policies. Suppliers were scored and ranked based upon both the policy maturity of their organisation with respect to sustainability, the completeness of their resource consumption and the degree to which they engaged with their own supply chain.

Further information on the Green Awards can be found at http://www.greenawards.ie

Once again, I’d like to thank the hundreds of suppliers and customers of the Nootrol service for supporting sustainable business practices and making an impact on the sustainability of a complex and global supply chain that covers all continents.

Best regards

Mark Kearns
